All preschool programs follow the Curiosity Corner curriculum, which is a comprehensive early childhood program for 3 and 4 year olds. The children are introduced to concept or skill, or chant rhymes related to the concept to engage in meaningful activities related to build their knowledge. They revisit the concept or skill later in that unit, in future units and in the following year. They build their knowledge and expertise through exposure to the concept or through practice using the skill. The curriculum provides teachers with the tools to build on each child's current skill level, and direction for further assessment, planning, implementation and observation. Curiosity Corner provides activities at a variety of levels to meet the needs of the individual child.
Faith. Moving. Forward.
Children in the MCC preschool program also begin their own faith journey by observing together the beauty, wonder, and joy-giving elements of their lives. We help the child know a loving God through family and friends, creation, and their senses. We read Bible stories designed for their level of understanding, begin the day with prayer, and celebrate the Holy days and feasts of the Church. We also teach a simple prayer before snack and the Sign of the Cross. Christian living and proper social behavior are stressed in all of our activities.
